Celebrity weddings are a great source of inspiration for planning your own nuptials. From designer gowns to flawless hair, delicious cakes and incredible venue styling, we’re inspired by every single detail!
See below for wedding inspiration from our favourite celebrity weddings.
Celebrities always have the most luscious locks so it’s only natural we turn to them for hair inspiration. Effortless beauty seems to be trending at the moment. Think natural waves and messy ballerina buns rather than jewelled tiaras. Poppy Delevingne was the epitome of effortless beauty wearing her hair in loose waves, parted to the side with the traditional veil. Ashley Tisdale had a similar style but added a flower crown to her loose curls for an edge of innocence while Hilary Duff pulled her hair back into a gorgeous ballerina bun.
Celebrity weddings are a great source of cake inspiration! From understated sophistication to full on glamour, they’re all works of art. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds had a vanilla and sour cream cake with peach-apricot preserves and earl grey-milk chocolate buttercream. We bet it tasted amazing! We also love the delicate flowers they used to dress the cake. Kaley Cuoco from the Big Bang Theory had one of the most unique cakes we’ve seen! She turned it into a key styling feature by suspending it upside down from a chandelier. If you’re thinking of keeping your cake more traditional, draw inspiration from Kate Moss and Jamie Hince who opted for a six tier white wedding cake decorated with yellow roses to match their garden party reception.
We can’t help ourselves from pouring over stunning celebrity-wedding gowns. We love the lace sleeves on Kate Middleton’s dress. Lace is something that never goes out of style and will bring a touch of elegance to any wedding gown. Angelina Jolie personalised her dress in a touching tribute to her children by decorating it with their drawings. While this may not be to everybody’s taste we think adding a personalised touch to your wedding dress can be rather sweet! Poppy Delevingne’s sparkling dress was also ultra practical. It featured a removable skirt, meaning the dress could be shortened from ceremony to reception. Olivia Palermo’s laid back bridal style was absolutely on point for her low key wedding! She wore a Carolina Herrera two-piece, with a sweater, and shorts with a tulle skirt overlay, proving you don’t need a ball gown and tiara to look like royalty.
They’re not only a beautiful photography feature! Ceremony backdrops can totally transform a space and floral backdrops are a favourite amongst celebrities at the moment. Floral features are a great way to freshen up your ceremony space and inject some colour. There are many different ways to style floral backdrops, Lauren Conrad and William Tell married in front of a floral arch while Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner suspended flowers from the ceiling. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West went all out and with a wall entirely covered in flowers.
Celebrity wedding venues are always impeccably styled. We loved Ashley Tisdale’s simple flower-filled alfresco reception. Outdoor receptions are perfect for the warmer months and if you choose a venue with beautiful gardens it will mean you need to spend less time styling the space. Another styling favourite of ours is the lanterns used to hang above the bridal table at Hilary Duff’s wedding. These were an interesting design element and complimented the simple floral table arrangements.
